The nutritional value of oranges is high as they are rich in vitamin C. They also contain fruit sugar, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D as well as over 170 antioxidants. Oranges are used for the production of juices, while the essential oils of the peel, flowers and leaves are a common ingredient in perfumes and confections.
Greek oranges are famous for their flavour. Orange production starts in December and lasts until October. CHB-VITOM processes the Washington Navel, Valencia, Common, Merlin Moro, Tarocco and Sanguine varieties.
The main products offered by CHB deriving from oranges are:
NFC orange juice: Juice that comes from the juicing of mature, fresh Greek oranges, from which the water is not removed (opposed to concentrated juices) during their process.
NFC blood orange juice : Not from concentrate blood oranges from fresh Greek oranges, Sanguine , Moro and Tarocco variety, which differ from the other varieties because of their red color and the characteristic taste.
Orange juice Concentrate: Juice coming from fresh, mature, Greek oranges from which the water has been removed, giving it all the benefits of fresh juice and the logistics advantages of a concentrated product.
Orange cells: Natural orange fibres that are added to enhance the fresh flavour and consistency of the fruit products.
